Team Weaver Car Tour

Skyler and I dragged back home Friday night in a spring blizzard, but our race car tour to Minnesota schools was a huge success.  We stopped at seven schools:  Princeton High School and Middle School, Rocori (near St. Cloud), Park Rapids, Aitkin, North Branch and Big Lake.  We presented our car and SATURDAY NIGHT DIRT to over 2000 students, teachers and librarians.  In one school, we brought No. 16 right inside the auditorium, center stage.  Look for photos in the motornovels album.

At schools we showed the video of Skyler in action in No. 16, complete with some early season spin-outs.  Then we did Q & A on racing, writing, books, speedways--whatever.  At most schools we parked our race car right by the front entrance, or just outside the cafeteria, so kids could see it close up and hang out by it.  One by one lots of kids--and a few teachers--sat inside the car for a photo-op.  It was fun starting the engine and seeing the looking on their faces.

Anyway, it was a great trip, and we hope to visit more schools next fall.  Right now, it's time to go racing--if only the snow would melt up away up in Minnesota.
