Big Scare for Team Weaver

So I'm having a burger with friends on a Thursday night in town when my cell phone rings.  It's my crew chief Bill Smith.  "Skyler's been in an accident--a rollover, three kids, one of them ejected and pinned.  I'm on my way to the hospital!"  My face must have turned white, because the friends at my table all said "What happened?!"  I explained what Bill had told me, wolfed down a couple more bites, then headed to the hospital as well....  Skyler's whole family was there in the waiting room of Emergency.  I learned that it was Skyler who had been ejected and pinned.  One of the other boys somehow lifted or tipped up the big Chevy Suburban while the other one pulled Skyler free.  "Everything  on Skyler moves so far, his fingers and toes, arms and legs," was all the news--that, and lots of facial lacerations and stitches.... I hung around until it was clear that Skyler was not badly injured--which was a true miracle.  The country road's ditch was steep and the Suburban quite long, so when it rolled sideways there was some breathing room underneath; as well, the ground was soft from lots of recent rains, and that helped.  Later I heard more details:  the boy who lifted the Chevy said he "felt no weight", and the one who pulled Skyler out did it with one hand, and said it felt like Sklyer "was on rollers or gliders....."  Remarkably, Skyler managed to go to school the next day, though just to pick up his homework.  He continues to have pain, and is seeing a chiropractor, but hasn't missed much school.  His face is healing, but scars will remain.  The doctors and sheriff said it was "inches or less" that saved Skyler from being killed or paralyzed.  We (Skyler and I and Bill) had a thoughtful talk later about the accident.  Skyler said, "There has to be a reason I wasn't killed or paralyzed--but I probably won't know what it is until I'm older."   His father said, "Maybe you can now be a poster boy for wearing seat belts...."  We had a laugh at that, but not much was funny about the whole thing.  We are all just counting our lucky stars on this one.  The three boys now believe in miracles and seat belts.
